Gijón P2 2026

Revenge came fast. Three weeks after losing the Riyadh final, Galán and Chingotto turned the tables on Tapia and Coello in Gijón, taking two knife-edge sets 7-5 7-6 for their first title of 2026. The women's final was just as tight, Brea and Triay outlasting Sánchez and Ustero 6-4 6-7 6-3 to open their own account for the year. A P2 on paper, a heavyweight bill in practice — and the Asturian crowd turned out in numbers the tour claimed as a record.

Arena Profile

Gijón sits on Spain's Asturian coast, in the country that lives and breathes this sport more than any other. Spanish P2 weeks are never small occasions — the depth of local padel culture means early rounds draw crowds other tours would take for a final, and the 2026 edition claimed record attendance. Venue confirmation for future editions is TBC; the appetite in northern Spain is not in question.
